Welcome Letter

Welcome dancers!

I am so excited to start another year of worshipping God through dance with you!

Fall classes will begin on Monday, September 10th, 2018. A calendar with important dates (recitals, days off, etc.) will be distributed to each dancer.

TUITION:  A lock box is located inside the studio next to the stereo at the end of the front windows. Payments are due the first day of class every month.

VOLUNTEERS:  As part of your student’s participation at Dancing for Jesus and as a way to keep costs down, I ask for each family’s commitment to volunteer at one recital per year at the minimum. More detailed information as well as an online signup sheet will be available closer to recital dates.

RECITALS:  Level 1 students will participate in one worship recital this year during the spring performance.  All other students will participate in two worship recitals this year tentatively scheduled for the months of January and May.  The worship recitals occur on a Saturday with 2 performances (3 pm and 5 pm) on that day and a rehearsal prior. There will be other worship opportunities outside of recitals for those interested. More information will be provided as it is available.

PARKING:  For the safety of our students, I’m asking that parents escort their child(ren) into the studio to and from class. Please be extra cautious in the parking lot to ensure the safety of all students. Also be sure to give your student(s) enough time to prepare and be ready for class on time.

PARENT OBSERVATION:  There are 2 opportunities during the year to observe your child(ren) in class. Parent observation days will be scheduled in the months of November and March.

CLASS ATTIRE:  Uniforms consist of black leotards, black ballet skirts (if desired), and pink tights. Hair for female students is to be styled in a ballet bun. This uniform is required for class with the exception of the recreational class on Thursdays from 3:004:30. Students participating in the recreational class are required to wear modest clothing that gives the freedom for movement.

WATER:  Water only in the studio please, no colored or flavored drinks please. I will have bottled water available for the cost of $1 per bottle on the honor system if needed.
ARRIVAL:  Upon arrival, please remove and place street shoes on the provided shoe racks by the front door and hang coats on the coat racks. Students are to wait quietly in the entry way of the dance studio. No street shoes are permitted on the dance floor. There are cubbies available for use in the back hallway to store dance bags and necessary items. Please wait for the teacher’s instruction to notify your class when it is the proper time to use this area. This will help with the flow of class dismissals and commencement of the next class.

RESTROOM USE:  A private bathroom for studio use only is available for all DFJ students.

Thank you for entrusting your students with me this year.  I look forward to a great year of learning and growing together and worshipping God with our gifts and talents.

Our Vision for "Dancing for Jesus"

We believe that every child can express themselves through the arts.

Teaching children dance in a loving and wholesome environment along with the teachings of Jesus gives them confidence.

Confidence, built upon an understanding of the Bible and it's promises and their new-found abilities to move in a rhythmic and choreographed way becomes the foundation, the reason, and the purpose for dance for these children
